Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Course for Rheumatologists: The Antonio J. Reginato Course


This course has been designed to offer each participant instruction in small groups with ample time for hands-on scanning. Participants will be placed in groups for the
hands-on sessions. Groups will be based on their level of expertise in scanning.

Intended Audience
The intended audience for this conference includes specialists in rheumatology, physiatry, and emergency medicine. Fellows, residents, and other physicians with an educational need or interest in this topic may also attend.

The Cooper Health System designates this educational activity for a maximum of 14.5 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Successful completion of one hour of a continuing medical education (CME) course recognized by the American Medical Association, the American Osteopathic Association, or the American Podiatric Medical Association is equal to one hour of continuing education for New Jersey nursing license renewal (New Jersey Board of Nursing 13:37-5.3).

Overall Learner Objectives
At the completion of this course, participants will be able to:

• Describe the principles of musculoskeletal ultrasound and the use of this technique in clinical practice
• Appreciate the indications and limitations of implementation of musculoskeletal ultrasound into daily practice and patient care
• Recognize and identify normal and abnormal musculoskeletal anatomy
• Perform and interpret basic or intermediate ultrasound examination of the following joints and surrounding soft tissue structures, including the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, sacroiliac joint, hip, knee, ankle, and foot
• Describe the clinical relevance of musculoskeletal ultrasound findings and appropriately apply this to patient practice
• Perform ultrasound-guided injections

Note: Fees include course syllabus, continental breakfasts, refreshment breaks, and luncheons.
