Healthy Bones
Each class will include a 30-minute discussion about bone health for women with Cooper
experts and a one-hour session with a fitness specialist.
The series will run for six consecutive Thursdays and will include these topics:
Week 1: How Menopause and Age Decrease Bone Formation
Week 2: How to Exercise Safely
Week 3: Optimal Nutrition for Bones – Calcium/Vitamin D
Week 4: Treatment Options for Osteoporosis
Week 5: Fracture Prevention
Week 6: Questions and Review
In addition to the discussions, the fitness specialist each week will focus on exercises that increase bone density and muscle strengthening to reduce the risk of falling or breaking a bone.
