Overall Learner Objectives:

This symposium will serve to unite multiple health systems with the common interest of improving stroke patient care and outcomes and will feature presentations by specialists in the management of acute stroke and neurovascular emergencies. Topics will include best practices utilized across the nation to reduce door-to-needle times, improve patient outcomes, and improve patient and general medical provider recognition of acute strokes and neurovascular emergencies.

Discussions will also be held regarding new guidelines released by the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association. Other sessions include case reviews, simulation models, panels with experts within the fields of emergency medicine and vascular surgery, and a nursing panel that will offer the perspective of those who are with the patients throughout their entire hospitalization.
