POSTPONED: Cancer Survivors and their Caregivers: Why self-care matters

This event has been postponed - a new date will be updated shortly.

You may ask what is self-care and how do I achieve a balanced life when faced with supporting someone with a cancer diagnosis? As your loved one’s support person, it is important to recognize that your health and well-being are a vital part of the cancer survivors’ treatment and beyond.

It is important to be there for your loved ones during their cancer journey. You may need to learn how to physically assist, emotionally support, and sometimes handle financial plans.

During this webinar, you will hear first-hand accounts from caregivers and their experiences with their loved one’s cancer diagnosis. Being a caregiver can be a tremendous responsibility. You will learn tips and strategies for self-care that will allow you to be a supportive individual in your loved one’s life.

Join MD Anderson at Cooper expert Sarah Fishman, Ph.D. Post-Doctoral Fellow in Behavioral Medicine as she and several cancer survivors and their caregivers discuss what self-care looks like and why it is important.

At MD Anderson at Cooper, a patient is considered a survivor the moment they are diagnosed with cancer and our team is dedicated to helping survivors live their lives to the fullest throughout their cancer journey. Recently, the definition has expanded to include family, friends, and caregivers.

This free one-hour online presentation will include a Q&A session.
