Hot Topics in Women's Health - Hereditary Breast Cancers: Genetics and New Treatment Guidelines


Join Dr. Anthony Dragun and genetic counselor Kristin DePrince Mattie for the next program in our series of informative webinars on women’s health concerns, presented by MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper experts.

The genetic understanding of cancer and breast cancer in particular is constantly evolving. Researchers are discovering new genes that are clarifying our understanding of how different breast cancers behave and respond to treatment.

During this free, virtual information session, genetic counselor Kristin Mattie will provide participants with a general understanding of hereditary breast cancer due to genetic mutations, who should be tested for these mutations, how this testing is done, and how this information can be important for individuals and families.

Dr. Dragun, who was a member of the national team of experts who developed new guidelines for hereditary breast cancer treatment, will review some of the key treatment recommendations in surgery, radiation treatment and medical oncology, including chemotherapy.

This event with be held via WexEx – and anyone can join using a smart phone, computer/laptop, or even a landline phone.
