Menopause and the Cancer Survivor: More Than Hot Flashes

Menopause and the Cancer Survivor: More Than Hot Flashes

Menopause marks a natural phase in a woman's life when estrogen and progesterone levels decline, and reproductive functions come to an end. However, for cancer survivors, menopause can be more complex and often occurs prematurely due to treatments like chemotherapy, radiation, or surgical removal of the ovaries. These abrupt changes can lead to a more severe experience of menopausal symptoms. Cancer survivors face unique challenges in managing symptoms while maintaining their long-term health, and standard menopause treatments may not always be suitable.

This webinar will address the physical, emotional, and sexual health challenges faced by cancer survivors as they navigate menopause, offering tailored strategies to help manage symptoms and maintain quality of life.

We will discuss:

  • The difference between natural and treatment-induced menopause.
  • Common menopausal symptoms and how cancer survivors may experience them differently.
  • Safe, non-hormonal management strategies for menopausal symptoms.
  • Tips for maintaining bone and heart health post-cancer treatment.
  • Approaches to improving sexual health, emotional well-being, and quality of life during menopause.
