Leukemias, Lymphomas and Myelomas
While many people are familiar with breast, lung and colorectal cancers, leukemias, lymphomas and myelomas are generally less well-known cancers. This broad group of diseases – all cancers of the blood, bone marrow and lymphatic system - are known as hematologic malignancies.
There are many different types of these cancers, affecting many different populations (from children and young adults to the elderly) and range from highly treatable and/or chronic conditions to serious, acutely life-threatening diseases.
